National Military Officers Association of America Information:

The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) is an independent, non-profit, dues-supported organization, exclusively operated to benefit uniformed services personnel and their families and survivors.  MOAA advocates a strong national defense and plays an active role in military personnel matters, especially proposed legislation affecting active duty personnel, the retired community, and veterans.  Our primary goal is making the views of our members known to decision-makers in the federal government.

MOAA was founded in 1929 in Los Angeles.  Today, with nearly 390,000 members and reincorporated in Virginia, MOAA is the largest military officers' association, and will be celebrating its 80th year of service in 2009.

National MOAA membership is open to all men and women who are or ever have been commissioned or warrant officers in any component of the seven uniformed services: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Public Health Service, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.  Auxiliary membership is open to widows and widowers of deceased members, as well as surviving spouses of those who would have been eligible for membership.

MOAA has more than 420 chapters across the United States and abroad.

MOAA member benefits include a subscription to the award-winning Military Officer magazine, job/career search counseling, educational assistance, advice on benefits and entitlements, insurance and investment products, and discount travel services.

Information for the National MOAA organization is available at:

Military Officers Association of America, 201 N. Washington Street, Alexandria, VA 22314, 1-800-234-6622 or visit www.moaa.org .

MOAA TRAVEL PROGRAM

MOAA has recently realigned their Travel Program and are now offering rebates to chapters for individual or group travel booked through their new travel affiliate.  In addition to some really good deals on individual travel they offer open date group rates as well.  Participants do not have to be MOAA members as long as the primary group member is a member in good standing.  Their new website is located at

http://www.MOAAvacations.com

Benefits Information Update:

The National MOAA Website provides a Benefits Information Update newsletter by email each month for those members who are signed up.  This newsletter will be sent to you by signing on to http://www.moaa.org/email and entering your MOAA membership number.
